One day a student asked the teacher-polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk:
УWhat should I do to become a successful politician?Ф
УThis is an interesting question,Ф the teacher admitted. УFirst, you should have good memory
to remember whom you have said a lie. Second, you should find necessary friends on time
and you should betray them on time. And, third, you should pretend to be a dupe like
those
who will vote for you during the election.Ф
One day a student asked the teacher-polyglot :
УCan we overcome the corruption? When will the authority of our country be
without corruption?Ф
УWell, when love is without sex, the authority will be without corruption
in our country.Ф
One day the teacher-polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk was asked by his student:
УDoes the good always overcome the evil?Ф
УYes, it does,Ф said the teacher.
УWhat will happen if the evil overcomes the good?Ф the student went on asking.
УIf it happens so, what people have supposed to be the good will become the evil,
but what people
have supposed to be the evil will become the good.Ф
During the entering lecture on French the teacher- polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk
was telling his pupils:
УThe German language reminds me of a man: strong, strict, wise, accurate.
French reminds me of a woman: tender, beautiful, nice.
English reminds me of a child: simple, funny, naive.
УWhat about Russian?Ф asked one pupil.
УRussian on TV reminds me of debts for the used gas and oil from RussiaФ
said the teacher-polyglot.
The teacher-polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk met his journalist-mate and they had a talk.
УDo you think if Ukraine will split into two parts from the contradictions between
the East and the West?Ф asked the journalist.
УNo! According to the law of dialectics oneness is contra-actions of antipodes.
As long as these opposite sides of the Ukraine are struggling against each other,
Ukraine will be the one. But when they stop fighting and send each other to devil,
the Ukraine will split into two parts.
УDid you read the Constitution of Ukraine?Ф the students asked their
teacher-polyglot.
УNo. What is the reason to read this fiction?Ф the teacher was astonished and
he went on explaining. УIn every society there are written laws and unwritten ones.
The written are a form of the society, but the unwritten are its gist.
The written law is read but often not kept and followed; and on the contrary,
the unwritten one is usually not read, but it is kept and followed by the people.Ф
УWhen will the Constitution work in the Ukraine?Ф was the next question.
УThe One will be followed when it has become an unwritten law,Ф answered the teacher.
The teacher-polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk was passing visa and passport checks in the London
Airport. The procedure was too boring and he said to an official:
УLast night I dreamed that your government had abolished the visa control for citizens
of the East European countries.Ф
УIt is a dream for you, but a nightmare for us,Ф said an official.
During one lecture on economics the teacher-polyglot was asked
by his students:
УHow, do you think, could our government solve the problem of nation senility
and increasing of social payments?Ф
УVery simply,Ф said the teacher. УThe parliament should pass a law which would
exclude the age sign from in all personal documents. After that, I am sure,
the people will become younger, and social payments will be less.Ф
One day the students asked his teacher-polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk:
УWhat newspapers do you prefer to?Ф
УIt is not necessary for me to read newspapers and watch the news,Ф said the teacher,
Уbecause I know: УWhat has happened will be again; what has been done will be done again.Ф
(Ecclesiastes 1:9) У
УWhat will happen in the world soon?Ф
УWhat will happen? Arabians have prayed to Allah and they will pray to Allah;
Russians have drunk vodka and they will drink vodka; the Chinese have multiplied
and they will multiply; Germans have struggled against Nazism and they will struggle;
Jews have earned money and they will earn money; Ukrainians have quarreled between
each other and they will keep quarrelling; Americans have issued their dollars and
they will issue dollars; the French have eaten frogs and they will eat frogs;
the Englishmen have spoken English and they will speak English, and so on.Ф
One day during one lecture the teacher-polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk was asked
by his students:
УHow can one unite the Ukrainians in one nation?Ф
УIt is simple but not easy,Ф said the teacher. УOne must find for the Ukrainians
a common aim,
a common enemy and the only leader.Ф
After one lecture the students asked the teacher-polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk:
УWhat is the difference between the elections in Russia and in Ukraine?Ф
УIn Russia the election is without choice, the people know its results beforehand.Ф
УWhat about the election in Ukraine?Ф
УIn Ukraine the election is without results, the people know beforehand,
than the election will bring them no result.Ф
One day after a lecture the students asked their teacher-polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk:
УWhat is Anti-Semitism? Who are anti-Semites?Ф
УAnti-Semites are failure politicians who take money from rich Jews and call non-Jews
to persecute poor Jews in order that they wonТt relax and think how to become rich Jews."
On the eve of the election to the Supreme Rada a sociologist made a public opinion
poll among the citizens of Ukraine. One of them was the teacher-polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk.
The sociologist asked him:
УIf Yanukovich wins the election, what will he have to do for uniting the Ukraine split
into two parts: his electors and his opponents? What is your opinion?Ф
УWhat will he have to do?Ф the teacher was thinking for a moment and then he said:
УHe will have to betray his electors.Ф
УWhat about Yushchenko?Ф
УHe will have to do the same.Ф
A big big-board where President Yushchenko was pictured was set to cover a shabby
wall of a secondary school building.
УPresident YushchenkoТs social initiatives: to raise workersТ pensions by 30 per cent!Ф
the teacher-polyglot read aloud and after that he said:
УToo little! Why not to be raised by 100 per cent? Why not to be raised
by 200 per cent? Earlier, before the Orange Revolution, we, Ukrainians, had two big
problems which scare investors and caused the great unemployment of population - the total
corruption and the Russian-Ukrainian
language antagonism. But after the Orange Revolution there appeared one more.
This is our president-accountant.
УWhat about the pro-Russian politician Yanukovich?Ф asked his colleague.
УYanukovich is not a problem for us, Ukrainians, but a stimulus, he inspires us to struggle!Ф
УWhat about Yulia Timoshenko?Ф
УShe is a woman - and it tells us much!Ф replied the teacher-polyglot
During a political discussion the student asked their teacher-polyglot Oleg Palamarchuk:
УWhy has the Ukraine been occupying so miserable position in the world for centuries?Ф
УIt has happened because of King Volodymyr whose face is depicted on the Ukrainian money.
In the ancient chronicle was written that delegations from the Jews, the Arabians,
Rome and Byzantium came to Kiev, and each of them suggested to the king Volodymyr
to convert his people into their religion. If the king had confessed Judaism,
the JewsТ capitals would have flown into the Ukraine, and now it would be
the riches and strongest state in the world. If the king had confessed Islam,
Ukrainians would have not been poisoned with alcohol, and now the Ukraine
would be the biggest gas and oil transporting base. If the king had confessed
Catholicism, the Ukraine would have become a participant of the European Union.
But this king chose the Byzantine orthodoxy, and the Ukraine has found itself
on the bottom of the European civilization.
